A few weeks ago Miller Outdoor put on a production of Beauty and the Beast. We thought it would be something fun and free to take the girls to. My plan was to go downtown, meet my mom to get tickets together, and then take the girls to the zoo and hang out downtown until it was time for the show. As luck have it it was supposed to rain all day. When we left the weather looked promising. We met my mom and got tickets but then the weather started to get worse. So the girls and I decided to ride the train and then head out. It was a good decision because it started to pour. The show wasn't until later that night so luckily the rain died down and we were able to see the play. The first 15 min of the play Willow just stared at the stage in amazement. It looked like she just couldn't believe people were singing and dancing in front of her. Ella loved it and kept asking "What is going to happen?" The last 10 minutes of the show it starting thundering and lightning. When the show was over we had to run to the car as it was pouring down rain. It was fun!
So to make up to the girls for not going to the zoo, we went the following Wednesday. They loved it. We got there a little after 11:00 and it was packed with school kids. We stayed just for a few hours but the girls got to see the giraffe's, elephant's, lions, bears, flamingo's, the sea lion show, and of course took a ride on the carousel. When we left around 3:00 the zoo was completely empty (all the school field trips had to be back at school I guess). Next time we go it will definitely be in the late afternoon. :)
